Three fabulous masterworks for chorus and orchestra: Arthur Honegger’s epicLe Roi David (King David); G.F. Handel’s brilliant coronation anthem The King Shall Rejoice; and Francis Poulenc’s hard-to-describe Gloria: at times stunning, playful and quirky.



CHRISTMAS, featuring selections from Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Dec 13-15

Our ever-popular holiday celebration features brilliant choruses, intimate arias and profound chorales from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with chamber orchestra; the world premiere of a new carol arrangement by Grant Cochran featuring guest harpist Megan Bledsoe Ward; and favorite traditional carols. Arrive early if you want a good seat!



LIEBESLIEDER, featuring Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes, February 21-22, 2020

A program of love songs from the Renaissance to the present, including works by Clara Schumann, Franz Schubert, and Libby Larsen and anchoring the program will be Johannes Brahms’ beloved, elegantLiebeslieder Waltzes, Op 52. You’ll have a hard time not waltzing in the aisles!



Dave Brubeck at 100* Collaboration with Anchorage Festival of Music, postponed until further notice

A powerful choral cantata about social justice by legendary jazz pianist and composer Dave Brubeck, who first performed locally with the Anchorage Festival of Music in 1970. The work was written to recognize the shared struggles of the Jewish people and African Americans. Based on Biblical and Hebrew liturgical texts together with quotations from Martin Luther King and others. Also featuring Brubeck’s greatest jazz hits - such as “Take Five” and “Blue Rondo à la Turk” - performed by Melissa “Jazzmom” Fischer Band , as well as the East High School Jazz Choir.
