A powerful choral cantata about social justice by legendary jazz pianist and composer Dave Brubeck, who first performed locally with the Anchorage Festival of Music in 1970. The work was written to recognize the shared struggles of the Jewish people and African Americans. Based on Biblical and Hebrew liturgical texts together with quotations from Martin Luther King and others. Also featuring Brubeck’s greatest jazz hits - such as “Take Five” and “Blue Rondo à la Turk” - performed by Melissa “Jazzmom” Fischer Band , as well as the East High School Jazz Choir.
