Pianist Susan Wingrove-Reed enthusiastically embraces opportunities to collaborate

with singers and instrumentalists. She is the pianist for the Alaska Chamber Singers,

the Anchorage Symphony, West HS and other ASD choirs, the annual AK All State

Honor Choir, and countless solo/ensemble festivals and recitals. She spends every

summer as staff pianist for the Sitka Fine Arts Camps. She has been the resident music

educator (pre-concert lectures and program notes) for the Anchorage Symphony for

over thirty-five years, sharing stories about composers, music and history. A graduate of

Indiana University with Piano Performance and MAT degrees, she returned home to

Alaska to pursue a life in the arts and education.  Reed is a retired ASD choir and

drama teacher (Bartlett High School) and received a Governor’s Award for her

contributions to arts education. She is a member of the Alaska Black Caucus Justice

Committee to further her commitment to anti-racism, equality, and concert programming

that is inclusive of historically neglected voices.
