Annie Herzog has been singing with Alaska Chamber Singers since she moved to Alaska from Washington State in 2020. Annie started her teaching career in Anchorage and has enjoyed directing choirs at both Bartlett and West Anchorage High Schools. She currently teaches choir at West where her students have earned top awards at both Alaska state competitions and a national WorldStrides Heritage Festival. Annie’s favorite part about being a choir teacher is helping students discover their full potential and develop a lifelong passion for music, performance, and artistic expression.
Annie earned her Bachelor's in Vocal Performance from Pacific Lutheran University where she sang with the Choir of the West. She also sang several opera roles during her time at PLU including Rosina in Rossini's il barbiere di siviglia and Hermia in Britten's A midsummer night's dream. In 2015 Annie was awarded the encouragement award at the Northwest Region Metropolitan Opera Auditions. She later went on to sing with PLU's Choral Union, Tacoma Opera, and CWU's Chamber Choir.
Annie is thrilled to serve as assistant conductor this season. She has found being a part of this ensemble to be highly rewarding and is excited to help make this season a success.
